When he was 18 he placed fourth in the World Hotel Olympia competition and won a cooking contract in Jasper, Alberta. This really kick-started his cooking career and what followed was a period of fast paced jobs around the globe including London, Vancouver and Ottawa - where he worked at such prestigious locations as the Chateau Laurier and the Governor Generals residence.  

Local is a real theme at The Kingston Brewing Company. The establishment prides itself on being locally owned and Chef Tyler's menu has a number of local staples. From the local bison burgers, to the in-house smoked ribs, to the wide selection of their micro brewed beer and cider, Chef Tyler stresses that the secret behind their great local food and drink is the extra effort they put into making everything in house.
