Dance has always been a social, educational and cultural experience for all those who participate. Kingston is home to several different cultural dance clubs including Irish, Ukrainian, Hawaiian and Tahitian and Portuguese. These clubs have a strong membership base and a long history and have hosted several dance events in the past. Kingston has also been the host of several large dance competitions, including Canada DanceSport 2009, which attracted competitive dancers from around the world held at the K-Rock Centre.
